I don’t know how how I missed this until now, but Lux Interior of the Cramps died this past Wednesday.
It was a heart condition that did him in, which surprised me since I always figured it’d be lung cancer after watching him stuff an entire pack of cigs into his mouth and light them with a blowtorch at the last Cramps show I saw. He was 62 (pretty old to be that punk rock) and he had been married to bandmate Poison Ivy for 37 years.
50 years ago today marks The Day the Music Died. RIP Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper. You were the shit, son.
