Pretty Entertaining Dan Clowes Fan Film

Normally I loath fan films, with the exception of that rare .01% that are actually good, e.g. Troops. This adaption of Dan Clowes’ “I Hate You Deeply” strip from Eightball isn’t quite that good, but it’s still head and shoulders above Batman: Dead End.

J-Roc vs iTunes 7 special update

Well, some good news: no, apple hasn’t fucking fixed iTunes 7 for windows xp, but rather i managed uninstall it, then reinstall iTunes 6.0.5 AND recovered my iTunes library!

Oh and when iTunes 6 started up, it showed me this:

itunes 7 sucks

Never reminding me of iTunes 7 again is a very nice option, thanks Apple!

iTunes 7 still blows ass

it seems that I am not alone in my position, iTunes 7 appears to be universally reviled.

Wired.com is reporting that iTunes 6.0.5 (the last version before 7) is the number 1 download on apple’s website. (or was, i just checked and the ipod update has knocked it off, but it’s still #2 ahead of 7).

I hope this is a wakeup call to apple, but i doubt it.

iTunes 7 blows ass

On windows at least. I’ve heard mac users aren’t minding it too much.

My complaints:

  • Deleting my library and playlists
  • Taking 12 hours to scan my library for “gapless”
  • using 100% of my cpu to play music (regular mp3s, which winamp uses like 1% to play), so much for doing anything else with my pc while listening to music
  • being slow as mud
  • the new coverflow thing sucks

Caveat: my main machine currently is 1.6 ghz athlon with 1gb of ram. This should be sufficient to run an mp3 player, however Apple must only think that everyone uses Mac Pros with Dual Core Duo chips and 4gb of ram.

I’m really disapointed with Apple over this, I’ve long been a big advocate of their products (I love my ipod) and I really did like the features of iTunes but I can’t use a music player that sucks this much.

Thanks for nothing, Apple.

(anyone know of a good replacement? I’ve tried Foobar and didn’t like it, Winamp is fine for just playing mp3s but its library function sucks. Songbird looks great, but is just too buggy, maybe in like a year or two)
