“Hibernation Ale is an English-Style Old Ale/Strong Ale, with 8.1% alcohol by volume. It is a robust ale that is exceptionally balanced with a malty, warming character and assertive hops. Each fall, Hibernation Ale cold-conditions for three months to fully balance the malt and hops with the high alcohol content. Hibernation Ale has become a celebrated winter tradition. It is Colorado’s original strong ale – available each winter since 1995. Due to its complex flavor profile and high alcohol content, Hibernation Ale ages well, allowing many beer enthusiasts to cellar the beer for extended periods of time. Malt Advocate Magazine (10/98) picked Hibernation Ale as one of its favorite beers for cellaring up to two years, calling it “a beer so big you could fall in.”
